Caught by a smile in a crowded room, and you find the gathering is never the same; caught by a loving touch and you know that you are not alone; caught by a joke on you and you know you are teased or mocked. We are caught by the word of God and our lives are changed, like the friendship or a chance meeting that catches us unawares can change our lives.

We are caught by the compassion of God so that we know we are always loved, even when we cannot love ourselves. We are caught by God’s forgiveness and know that nothing of the past need catch us in the nets of guilt; caught by the call of God and we know that God wants to catch others through us.

We are invited, each of us, into his service, to be caught by the beauty, joy, challenge and freedom of his invitation. We know that we can be his followers, into his service. He catches us to be his word and presence, compassion and love in the world of today.
